Rock Hill, South Carolina, 11-8-11 Kendall Anderson, CFA attended the most recent CFA Society of South Carolina meeting held at the Capital City Club in Columbia SC. The speaker for the day was Jimmy Addison of SCANA Corporation.
Originally from Lancaster, SC, Mr. Addison obtained his B.S. degree in Accounting at USC in 1982, followed by his Master of Accountancy a year later. He joined SCANA in 1991 and has been promoted several times in the years since. He was appointed as vice president of finance for SCANA and its subsidiaries in 2001 and chief financial officer in 2006. As CFO, Addison’s duties include but are not limited to: planning, directing and overseeing the organization’s finance function including accounting, financial planning, corporate taxes, shareholder services, investor relations, rates and regulatory services, risk management, treasury and new nuclear finance, along with oversight of information services and technology.
When asked about the content of Tuesday’s meeting Mr. Anderson stated: Mr. Addison discussed the future energy needs of the citizens and businesses in South Carolina as well as an update on the construction of the company’s two new nuclear facilities designed to fulfill this need.
