The presentation took place during the January meeting of the CFA Society of SC, in Columbia, SC. The current state of the private equity market is in turmoil as many institutional and banking organizations are resizing their commitments to this asset class. In light of this, CEO of Anderson Griggs, Kendall Anderson noted, "The turmoil and current fire sales taking place by institutional investors, at what seem to be bargain prices, could be an opportunity." He further stated, "However, given the structure, cost and minimum commitment for funds to participate creates a risk in "private equity' investments that should not be considered by the vast majority of individual investors."
